Terms and Conditions
Last updated 21 September 2026. These terms apply to trips arranged by Uganda Gorilla Trekking, operated by Primate Safari Experiences Ltd of Namasuba Kikajjo, Ssemakula Road, Makindye Ssabagabo, Wakiso District, Uganda ("we", "us"). By paying a deposit you accept them.
Bookings and payment
A booking is confirmed when we receive your deposit and send you written confirmation. The balance is due before travel on the date stated in your quote. Prices are quoted in the currency shown on your quote and are valid for the period stated on it.
Gorilla permits
Gorilla trekking permits are issued by the Uganda Wildlife Authority and are personal and non-transferable. The name on a permit must match the traveller's passport. Rules for changes, transfers and refunds of permits are set by the Uganda Wildlife Authority, and we explain the rules that apply before you pay. A permit may be refused or cancelled on the day if a traveller is ill, and this does not entitle the traveller to a refund from us.
Changes and cancellations by you
Tell us in writing as soon as you need to change or cancel. Costs already paid to third parties, such as permits, lodges and flights, may not be refundable. We will tell you what can be recovered and pass on any refund we receive. We strongly recommend travel insurance that covers cancellation and medical evacuation.
Changes and cancellations by us
If we must change your itinerary, for example because of weather, road conditions, park closures or a gorilla family being unavailable, we will offer the closest alternative. If we cancel a trip for reasons within our control, we will refund what you have paid for services not delivered.
Health and behaviour
Travellers must follow park rules and the instructions of rangers and guides, including the minimum age of 15 for gorilla trekking, the seven-metre distance rule and the ban on trekking when ill. Travellers are responsible for their own vaccinations, visa and travel documents.
Liability
We arrange services with care but rely on third parties such as lodges, airlines and park authorities. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for loss, injury, delay or additional costs caused by events outside our reasonable control, including severe weather, road closures, illness and government action. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Uganda.
