- Flying into Kigali: the 4-day gorilla trek with Lake Bunyonyi, the 4-day double gorilla trek and the 6-day double gorilla trek all start and end in Kigali.
- Flying into Entebbe: the 3-day Bwindi trek, the 3-day habituation experience, the chimpanzee and gorilla safari and the gorilla and wildlife safari start in Uganda.
Ways to extend a gorilla trip
- Add a rest stop. A night at Lake Bunyonyi after trekking makes a short trip far more comfortable.
- Add a second trek. A double trek gives you two different families. Read the Bwindi guide and the Mgahinga guide to compare the parks.
- Add the Habituation Experience. Up to four hours with a family in Rushaga. See the habituation guide.
- Add a safari. Queen Elizabeth and Kibale add lions, elephants and chimpanzees on trips of four days or more.
Before you fix dates, read how gorilla permits work and check the best time to go.
