About us

We plan gorilla trekking trips in Uganda. That means we book the permit, the lodge and the transport, and we are the people you deal with from your first question to the airport transfer.

Who we are

Uganda Gorilla Trekking is a Uganda-based travel team focused on one thing: getting you to the mountain gorillas of Bwindi and Mgahinga comfortably and responsibly. Because gorilla permits, lodges near the park offices and driver-guides all have limited availability, we handle them together so that your dates line up.

How we work

  • Permit first. We check gorilla permit availability before anything else, because it decides your dates. See our permit guide.
  • Advice before sales. We tell you when a trek is too demanding, when a season is wet, and when an add-on is not worth the drive. Our guides on the best time to go and Bwindi explain how we think.
  • Clear terms. What is included, what is not and how changes work are written down before you pay. See our terms and conditions.
  • Simple contact. Send a message and you get a reply within one working day.

Responsible tourism

Gorilla tourism only works if the gorillas and the people around them come first. We follow the park rules on distance, group size and health, we recommend hiring a porter on every trek, and we favour lodges and community experiences that employ local people. Read how visitor fees protect the forest in our mountain gorilla guide.
